Arlander Keys is a federal magistrate judge for the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. He was appointed to this position on February 21, 1995 and was reappointed on February 20, 2003. He retired from the bench on October 31, 2009.
Judge Keys began his career in 1975 as a trial attorney for the National Labor Relations Board in Chicago. He then joined the Federal Labor Relations Authority as a Chicago regional attorney in 1980. From 1986 to January of 1995, he was an Administrative Law Judge for the Department of Health and Human Services (Office of Hearings and Appeals, Social Security Administration). He was the Chief Administrative Law Judge from 1988 until 2003, when Keys became a Magistrate Judge.
