Beaufort County is located within the North Carolina District Court judicial district 2 and the North Carolina Superior Court First Division.

The United States District Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina has jurisdiction in Beaufort County. Appeals from the Eastern District go to the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.
