Frederick W. Gannett is a judge for the Colorado Fifth Judicial District.[1] He is running for retention in the 2014 election.[2]

Education

Gannett earned his undergraduate degree from Lawrence University and his J.D. from Willamette University in Oregon. Prior to law school, he worked as a sheriff's deputy in Pitkin County.[1]

Career

Gannett was appointed Assistant County Judge for the Eagle County Court (Div. II) in 1987. He was appointed to the Eagle County Court (Div. I) in 1992. In 1994, he became a private practice lawyer. Throughout his career, he also served as a municipal judge for the City of Basalt. He also worked as associate judge for the Town of Vail. In 2002, he was reappointed to the Eagle County Court, where he served until his district court appointment.[1]
