Joseph H. Field is an active retired judge for the West Bath District Court in Sagadahoc County, Maine. He was appointed as a full-time judge in 1990 and retired from the court in January of 2012, but chose to continue hearing cases as an "active retired" judge.
Field received his B.A. degree (in History) from Harvard College in 1969 and his law degree from the University of Maine School of Law in 1976.
Field began his career in 1976 as an Assistant District Attorney with the Maine Prosecutorial District Six. He then worked as a private practice lawyer in Brunswick from 1980 until his judicial appointment in 1990.
