Lawyers rank Sedgwick County judge candidates (dead link)

(7/20/08) Segewick County lawyers rank sitting judges and their 2008 challengers; David Kaufman, Joe Kisner, Robb Rumsey and Jeff Goering received the highest rankings. Rebecca Pilshaw, Dan Brooks and Warren Wilbert received the lowest. (See: how the judges were scored.)

Schlafly rails against appointed state judges

(5/14/08) The conservative figure urged Johnson County (10th Judicial District) voters to approve a proposal on the November 2008 ballot that would allow residents to elect their judges; currently, judges are appointed by a group of lawyers and non-lawyers.

Sebelius names Kittel new 7th Judicial District judge

(3/31/08) The Kansas Governor appointed Peggy Carr Kittel to Stephen Six's district judge seat on the Douglas County bench. The vacancy was created when Sebelius appointed Six as state attorney general in January.
