The North Dakota District Courts are trial courts of general jurisdiction in North Dakota. There is a district court in each of the state's 53 counties.

Jurisdiction

The District Courts have original and general jurisdiction in all cases, including criminal felony and misdemeanor cases, and general jurisdiction for civil cases, and juvenile cases.[1]

There are seven judicial districts in North Dakota, divided by region.

Judges

District judges are elected by the voters of their district for six-year terms in non-partisan elections.[1] They are paid an annual wage of $113,648.[2]
