17th Circuit Court (Family Division) in Kent County, Michigan. He was appointed to this position by former Governor Granholm on July 22, 2009 to fill the vacancy created when Steven Mitchell Pestka retired from the court. He took office the following August 10th and was re-elected on November 2, 2010 to a 6 year term that ends on January 1, 2017.
Prior to joining the court, Denenfeld was an attorney with LaGrand & Denenefld. Previously, he was a director for the Institute for New Democracies for Uzbekistan and senior litigation counsel for the federal public defender office. Additionally, Denenfeld has been an adjunct professor at Cooley Law School, Georgetown University Law Center, Michigan State University/Detroit College of Law, Wayne State University and Kalamazoo Valley Community College.
