Polk County is located within the Tallapoosa Judicial Circuit of the Superior Court Seventh District.

In addition to the Superior Court the people of Polk County are served by a Probate Court, a Juvenile Court, a Magistrate Court and four Municipal Courts.

The United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia has jurisdiction in Polk County. Appeals from the Northern District go to the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.
