Robert M. Gross is the Chief Judge on the Florida Fourth District Court of Appeal. He was appointed to this court in 1995 and was retained by voters in 1998  and 2004.  His current term expires on January 3, 2017.
Robert Gross graduated from Williams College in 1973 and went on to receive his law degree from Cornell University in 1976. He is a Florida Judicial College faculty member as well as a member of various bar associations.
Robert Gross began his legal career in 1976 as an Assistant District Attorney in New York. A year later, he became an Assistant State Attorney in Palm Beach County, Florida. He became a private practice lawyer in 1981, joining the law firm Moyle, Jones and Flanigan, P.A. In 1984, he became a judge. He was appointed to a County Court and eventually became the Administrative Judge of that court. In 1991, he was elevated to the Circuit Court. He held this position until his appointment to the Court of Appeal in 1995.
