Thomas G. Power is the chief judge of Michigan's 13th Circuit Court. He was first elected to this court in November of 1992 (taking office the following January 1st)[1] and he was re-elected in 1998, 2004, and 2010. His current six-year term ends on January 1, 2017.[2][3][4][5]

Education

Power received his undergraduate degree in Economics from Carleton College, his law degree from the University of Michigan Law School (1974) and his Masters degree in Taxation from New York University (1978).[1]

Career

Power is a former lawyer and partner of the firm of Elhart and Power in Traverse City. He then served in the Michigan Legislature (representing the counties of Leelanau, Grand Travers and Kalkaska) for 10 years prior to his election to the circuit court in 1992.[1]

2010 election

Power was re-elected without opposition in the general election on November 2, 2010.[4]
