Adriana Escobar was appointed to Department 14 of the Eighth Judicial District Court in Nevada by Governor Brian Sandoval on June 26, 2012. She replaced Judge Donald Mosley, who retired from the bench on March 3, 2012.[1] She was elected to a new term on the court in the Nevada general election on November 6, 2012.[2]
Education
Judge Escobar received her bachelor's degree from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. She earned her J.D. from the California Western School of Law.[1]
Career
Prior to her appointment to the bench, Judge Escobar was a Deputy Nevada Attorney General. She became a member of the Nevada bar in 1993. Before beginning work for the attorney general, she was special counsel at Fox Rothschild LLP, representing clients in corporate, immigration, and administrative law.[1]
Elections
2012 election
Escobar defeated Michael D. Davidson in the general election on November 6, 2012, to maintain her seat on the Eighth Judicial District Court. She earned 51.23% of the vote.[2]
