Alfred Younges Kirkland, Sr. (1917-2004) was a federal judge on the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
Kirkland was nominated by President Gerald Ford on December 11, 1974, to a seat vacated by William Bauer; he was confirmed by the Senate on December 19, 1974, and received commission on December 21, 1974. He assumed senior status on April 30, 1979. He served the Northern District of Illinois until his death on March 19, 2004.[1] Kirkland was succeeded in this position by Charles Kocoras.
