Alfred Murrah (1904-1975) was a federal judge on the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit. He joined the court in 1940 after being nominated by President Franklin Delano Roosevelt[1].

Tenth Circuit

Alfred Murrah was a federal judge on the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit. He was nominated by President Franklin Delano Roosevelt on August 5, 1940 to replace Robert Lewis. He was confirmed by the Senate on August 29th, and received commission on September 4th. From 1959 to 1970, he was the chief judge. On May 1, 1970, he assumed senior status and continued to serve in this capacity until his death on October 30, 1975[1].

Western, Eastern, and Northern Districts of Oklahoma

Alfred Murrah previously served on the United States District Courts for the Western, Eastern and Northern Districts of Oklahoma][1].

He was nominated by President Franklin Delano Roosevelt on February 8, 1937 to a seat created by 43 Stat. 945. He was confirmed by the Senate on February 25th, and received commission on March 3rd. He served in this position until September 9, 1940, when he was appointed to the Tenth Circuit][1].
