Andrew Mead

Andrew M. Mead has been a justice on the Maine Supreme Judicial Court since April of 2007[1]. His current term expires in 2014.[2]
Biography
Justice Mead graduated from the University of Maine at Orono in 1973 and received his law degree from the New York Law School in 1976. He is now an adjunct faculty member of the University of Maine.[3][4]
Legal career
Justice Mead worked in private practice with the law firms of Paine, Lynch & Weatherbee and Mitchell & Stearns, P.A. until 1990. He also worked as the Chief Judge of the Penobscot Nation Tribal Court from 1980 until 1990. He was then appointed to the Maine District Court. In 1992, he was appointed to the Maine Superior Court. He served as Chief Justice of this court from 1999 to 2001. He was appointed to the Supreme Judicial Court in 2007. He has also worked as a judicial liaison to the Maine Rules of Evidence Advisory Committee and has chaired the Task Force on Electronic Court Records.[3][2][4]
