Arrie Davis

Arrie W. Davis is a judge on the Maryland Court of Special Appeals, the intermediate appellate court for the state of Maryland. He took office on December 27, 1990.[1]
Biography
Judge Davis was born on July 21, 1940 in Baltimore, Maryland. He received his B.A. degree from Morgan State College in 1963 and his M.A. degree from New York University in 1966. He went on to earn his J.D. degree from the University of Baltimore School of Law in 1969.[1]
Legal career
Judge Davis began his legal career as a law clerk for Judge Joseph Carter and Master Harry Sachs from 1968 to 1969. During that time he was also the Bailiff to the Supreme Bench of Baltimore. From 1970 to 1971, he was an Assistant State's Attorney in Baltimore City. He then became an Assistant Attorney General in the Criminal Appeals Division until 1979. He provided legal counsel to the Division of Correction, Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services until he became a judge in 1981. He served as an Associate Judge on the District Court of Maryland, District 1 from March 2, 1981 to June 2, 1983, when he was elevated to the position of Associate Judge of the Baltimore City Circuit Court, 8th Judicial Circuit. He held this position until his appointment to the Court of Special Appeals. He has also taught law at Morgan State University and Villa Julie College.[1]
