Art McKinster

Art W. McKinster is a judge on the Fourth District, District Two of the California Courts of Appeal. He was appointed by Governor Deukmejian and, after his confirmation, took the oath of office on December 27, 1990. He was retained by voters on November 7, 2006.[1]
Biography
Art McKinster was born in 1946, in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. He has lived in San Bernardino, California since 1950. He received his bachelor of science degree from the University of Southern California in 1968 and his law degree from Hastings College of the Law in 1971. He took ROTC military science classes at Berkeley from 1969 to 1971. He was commissioned in 1971 and served as a captain in the 426th Civil Affairs Company for 8 years. He is married with two adult children.[2]
Legal career
Art McKinster worked as a Deputy District Attorney for San Bernardino County from 1972 to 1978 and a Supervising Deputy District Attorney from 1977 to 1978. He then became the Chief Deputy District Attorney until 1984, when he was appointed to the San Bernardino Municipal Court. The next year, he was elevated to the Superior Court, where he worked until his appointment to the Court of Appeals.[2][3]
