Associate Justice of the Delaware Supreme Court receives award
Delaware: On March 17, 2011 Associate Justice Randy Holland of the Delaware Supreme Court received the 7th Annual Dwight D. Opperman Award for Judicial Excellence.  Holland was selected for the national honor by a three judge panel consisting of Indiana Supreme Court Chief Justice Randall Shepard, Judge Cara Lee Neville of the Minnesota Fourth Judicial District, and Judge Steve Leben of the Kansas Court of Appeals.
Holland was nominated for the award by former Delaware Supreme Court Justice E. Norman Veasey, who said of Holland, "behind his impressive credentials are his true passion for the law, unselfish devotion to fairness, unimpeachable integrity, civility, professionalism, open-mindedness to all situations, and unfaltering work ethic." 
The award was created by the American Judicature Society (AJS) to honor state judges for distinguished judicial service. It is named for Dwight D. Opperman, former president of the AJS and current board member serving as a Distinguished Lifetime Director.
