Autauga County has its county seat in Prattville, Alabama. The county is in the 19th circuit, along with Chilton and Elmore counties.

The people of Autauga County are served by the Circuit Court, a District Court, a Probate Court and two Municipal Courts.

The United States District Court for the Middle District of Alabama has jurisdiction in Autauga County. Appeals from the Middle District go to the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.
