Kron began his career in 1975 as a confidential law assistant of the New York Supreme Court, Appellate Division, 2nd Department. The following year, he became a law secretary to Judge Frank O'Connor. He worked in this capacity until 1981, when he joined the law firm of Fine, Tofel, Saxl, Berelson and Barandes. In 1982, he left that firm to become a law secretary to Judge William Thompson. He then worked as a chief law assistant in the Appellate Division, 2nd Department from 1985 until his judicial appointment in 1988.
Kron began his judicial career in 1988 as an interim judge of the New York City Civil Court. He worked in this capacity until 1991. In 1997, he was appointed an Acting Supreme Court Justice and, in 2007, he was appointed a judge of the New York City Criminal Court.
