Judicial career
Supreme Court of the United States
He was nominated by President Herbert Hoover on February 15, 1932 to replace Oliver Wendell Holmes. He was confirmed by the Senate on February 24th, and received commission on March 2nd. He served on this court until his death on July 9, 1938.[1] He was succeeded to this post by Felix Frankfurter.
