Bernard Schwartz is a judge for the Superior Court of Riverside County in California. He was appointed by former governor Gray Davis on Ocotber 8, 2003 to succeed Ronald L. Taylor. Schwartz was most recently re-elected in 2012 and his current term will expire in 2019.
Prior to becoming a judge, Schwartz was a commissioner for the Riverside County Superior Court for three years. Before being appointed commissioner, Schwartz was an attorney in the firm of Johnston and Schwartz and had previously been a Riverside deputy public defender.
Schwartz ran for re-election to the superior court in 2012. As an unopposed incumbent, his name did not appear on the ballot. After the primary election, Schwartz was automatically re-elected.
