Bonnie Foster Jackson is a criminal court judge of the 19th Judicial District, Division K in East Baton Rouge Parish, Louisiana. She was elected to this position on November 3, 1992. Her current term expires on December 31, 2014.[1][2] She is running for re-election to the 19th Judicial District in 2014.[3]

Education

Jackson earned her J.D. from the Louisiana State University Law Center in 1978, one of five African American students to graduate from the law school that year.[4]

Career

Before serving as a judge, Jackson worked for the East Baton Rouge Parish Public Defender's Office for 14 years. While there she became the assistant director, a position she held until the launch of her judgeship campaign.[4]
