Bruce D. Stewart is a judge on the Illinois Fifth District Appellate Court. He was elected to this position on November 7, 2006 to replace Judge Maag.[1][2] He took office on December 4th of that year and his current term ends on December 3, 2016.[3]
Education
Judge Stewart received his bachelor's degree in Government from Southern Illinois University in 1973. He then attended the SIU School of Law, where he received his law degree in 1976.[1]
Legal career
Judge Stewart began his career in 1976 as a private practice lawyer. He worked in this position until 1995, when he was appointed a Circuit Judge of the 1st Circuit Court. He was then elected to the Appellate Court in 2006.[1]
