Calhoun County is in the 7th judicial circuit of the Alabama, along with Cleburne County.

The people of Calhoun County are served by a Circuit Court, District Court, Probate Court and six Municipal Courts.

The United States District Court for the Northern District of Alabama has jurisdiction in Calhoun County. Appeals from the Northern District go to the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.
