Catherine Stone

Catherine M. Stone is a judge on the Texas Fourth District Court of Appeals. Governor Richards appointed her to this position on March 24, 1994. She was then elected to consecutive 6 year terms.[1] Her current term ends on December 31, 2014.[2]
Biography
Justice Stone was born on November 28, 1953 in Biddeford, Maine. She received her B.A. degree in Foreign Affairs from Assumption College and her J.D. degree from St. Mary's University School of Law in 1982.[1] She is currently married and has three sons. She is also an active member of St. Luke's Catholic Church.[3]
In 2008, Chief Justice Stone had a fundraising event involving numerous musicians, including Ray Wylie Hubbard. The event was called "Rocking with Stone."[4]
Legal career
Justice Stone began her legal career in 1982 as a briefing attorney for two justices of the Fourth Court of Appeals. In 1983, she began practicing law with the firm Watkins, Mireles, Brock and Barrientos. She worked in this capacity for 8 years and then spent 3 years running her own law practice before she was appointed to the Court of Appeals in 1994.[1]
