Charlene Elder

Charlene Elder is a judge on Michigan's Third Circuit Court. She is up for re-election in 2006, having originally been appointed to the court by Governor Jennifer Granholm to fill a partial term-vacancy. She first won re-election to the court in 2006, allowing her to complete the term.[1]

Heritage and Judicial Firsts

Elder is the first Arab-American female judge on the Third Circuit (and additionally speaks fluent Arabic).[2]
