Notable cases

Port shipping case

United States District Court for the District of South Carolina
*South Carolina Coastal Conservation League, v. Unites States Army Corps of Engineers, Charleston District, et al. 2:07-3802-PMD
Judge Houck presided in a lawsuit between the Coastal Conservation League and the Port Authority of South Carolina. The judge dismissed a case filed by environmental groups trying to block construction of a new shipping port on the site of a former Navy base of North Charleston. The judge found that evidence used by the league in their complaint against the Port Authority was not sufficient beyond a reasonable doubt to move the trial forward.[2]
