Notable cases

Port shipping case

Judge Houck was presiding in a lawsuit between the Costal Conservation League and the Port Authority of South Carolina. The judge dismissed a case filed by environmental groups trying to block construction of a new shipping port on the site of a former Navy base of North Charleston. The judge found that evidence used by the league in their complaint against the Port Authority was not sufficient beyond a reasonable doubt to move the trial forward[1].
