Chris W. Altenbernd is a judge on the Florida Second District Court of Appeal. He was appointed on January 3, 1989 by Governor Martinez. He was retained by voters in 1990, 1996, and 2002. He served a term as chief judge on the court from February 2003 to June 2005. [1]

Biography

Chris Altenbernd was born on January 18, 1949 in Muscatine, Iowa. He graduated from the University of Missouri in 1972 and went on to receive his law degree (J.D.) from Harvard Law School in 1975. He later received his Masters of Law degree in judicial process from the University of Virginia in 1998. He is married and has two daughters. [1]

Legal career

After law school, Chris Altenbernd became a private practice attorney with the law firm Fowler, White, Gillen, Boggs, Villareal & Banker, P.A. He became a partner in this firm in 1979 and a member of its Board of Directors in 1986. He left the firm in 1989 to assume his position on the Court of Appeals. [1]
