Cindy K. Jorgenson is a federal judge for the United States District Court for the District of Arizona. She joined the court in 2002 after being nominated by President George W. Bush.
Early life and education
A native of California, Jorgenson graduated from the University of Arizona with her Bachelor's Degree in 1974 and later graduated from the University of Arizona College of Law with her Juris Doctorate Degree in 1977.
Jorgenson started her legal career as a Deputy county attorney for the Pima County Attorney's Office from 1977 to 1986 before joining the US Attorney's Office as Assistant U.S. attorney for the District of Arizona from 1986 to 1996. Jorgenson later became a Superior Court Judge in the Pima County Superior Court from 1996 to 2002.

On the unanimous recommendation of Arizona U.S. Senators Jon Kyl and John McCain, Jorgenson was nominated by President George W. Bush on September 10, 2001 to a new seat created by 113 Stat. 1501. Martone was confirmed by the Senate on February 26, 2002 on a unopposed 98-0-2 vote and received commission on March 6, 2002.
