Colfax County is located within the district court 5th Judicial District and the county court 5th Judicial District.

The people of Colfax County are served by a District Court, a County Court and a Problem-Solving Court.

The United States District Court for the District of Nebraska has jurisdiction in Colfax County. Appeals from the District of Nebraska go to the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit.
