Colorado judicial elections

Judicial selection in Colorado consists of a commission-selection, political appointment method. Candidates are chosen by a nominating commission and, from those candidates, the Governor makes the final appointment. The judges must then face retention elections to keep their seat. Such retention elections are held in even-numbered years during the November general election.
