Colorado: In 2006, the Colorado Supreme Court created the Pro Bono Commitment Program to help provide legal services those who need but can't afford representation. The results of last year's program were just released, showing the most productive year yet. A record 151 law firms, practitioners and groups participated. Of the efforts in 2010, Chief Justice Michael Bender said, "No matter the condition of our state’s economy, there always is an unmet need for access to justice for people who otherwise can’t afford legal representation. That need, though,
becomes especially apparent in a deep recession like the one we’re recovering from now."
