Court of Civil Appeals judge to run for Supreme Court

Alabama: After days of speculation, today Tommy Bryan will quell the rumors by announcing his candidacy for the Alabama Supreme Court in 2012. With a number of seats up for election, Bryan has chosen to run for the open seat of the retiring Thomas Woodall. [1]

Judge Bryan has served on the Alabama Court of Civil Appeals since 2005, after defeating incumbent Sharon Yates in 2004. He was re-elected in 2010, to a six-year term. He is expected to announce is candidacy at 11AM today.
