Cynthia Aaron is a justice on the Fourth District, Division One of the California Courts of Appeal. She was appointed to this position by Governor Davis and took office on January 10, 2003. Her current term expires on January 7, 2019.
Cynthia Aaron graduated from Stanford University with a degree in psychology in 1979 and went on the receive her law degree from Harvard in 1984. 
Cynthia Aaron began her career as a trial attorney for Federal Defenders of San Diego, Inc. She worked there from 1984 to 1988. She went on to form the law firm Aaron & Cortez with one of her colleagues. In 1994, she was appointed as a Magistrate Judge for the United States District Court for the Southern District of California, where she worked until her appointment to the Court of Appeal.
