Education
Cohen received his B.S. and J.D. degrees from the University of Florida in 1983 and 1986, respectively.[2]
Career
Cohen began his career in 1986 as an Assistant State Attorney. He left that position in January of 1990 to open his own law firm. He was then appointed to the Circuit Court in 2006.[2]
Ethics complaint
The Florida Judicial Qualifications Commission has filed a complaint against judge Cohen, alleging misconduct toward attorney Stephen Melnick, who was involved in a lawsuit against Cohen's wife, Mardi Anne Levey Cohen. Cohen is accused of trying to embarrass and intimidate Melnick. [6][7][8] Cohen goes to trial before the Commission in September of 2010. [9]
