Daniel Breen is an Article III federal judge for the United States District Court for the Western District of Tennessee. He joined the court in 2003 after being nominated by President George W. Bush.
Early life and education
Born in Jackson, Tennessee, Breen graduated from Spring Hill College with his Bachelor's Degree in 1972 and received a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Tennessee Law School in 1975. [1]
Professional career
Breen was a private practice attorney in Jackson, Tennessee from 1975 to 1991. [1]
Judicial career
Western District of Tennessee
Breen served as a Federal Magistrate Judge for the United States District Court for the Western District of Tennessee from 1991 to 2003.[1]
On the recommendation of Senators Bill Frist and Fred Dalton Thompson, Breen was nominated to the United States District Court for the Western District of Tennessee by President George W. Bush on January 7, 2003 to a seat vacated by Julia Gibbons as Gibbons was appointed to the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals. Breen was confirmed by the Senate on March 13, 2003 on a Senate vote and received commission on March 14, 2003.[2]
