Traffic incident charges
Bauer resigned from his position on the Fernley Municipal Court in February 2012, following charges of wrongful exercise of official power and oppression under color of office.[2] Those charges, both misdemeanors, stemmed from a traffic incident in Fernley.[3] All charges against Bauer were dropped following his resignation.[2]
In December 2012, The Nevada Commission on Judicial Discipline filed formal charges against Bauer for wrongful exercise of official power and oppression under color of office. If the allegations are proven true, Bauer could be barred from holding judicial office.[4]
