David Evans is a judge of the Texas Fifth District Court of Appeals.[1] He was elected on November 6, 2012 to a term that expires on December 31, 2018.[2]
Education
Evans received his B.A. degree (Philosophy and Greek) from the University of Connecticut in 1977 and his J.D. degree from the Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law in 1984. He also attended Dallas Theological Seminary for Hebrew and Greek studies from 1977 to 1981.[3]

2012 election
Evans ran for the Texas Fifth District Court of Appeals and won 31.92% of the vote in the Republican primary. Since no candidate received more than 50%, he and Bill Whitehill competed in a runoff on July 31, 2012.[4] Evans won in the runoff, receiving 51.38% of the vote.[5]
Evans defeated judicial candidate Dan Wood in the general election on November 6, 2012, with 52.7% of the vote.[6][7][2]
