David R. Duncan is the Chief Bankruptcy Judge for the United States bankruptcy court, District of South Carolina. He was elevated to the position of Chief Judge on March 1, 2013.[1]

Education

Duncan received his undergraduate and Juris Doctor from the University of South Carolina.[2]

Career

From 1980 to 1991, Duncan worked in private practice. Next, from 1991 to 2006, he was the Regional Assistant United States Trustee for Region 4 until his appointed as bankruptcy judge on May 26, 2006.[3]

  • Standing Chapter 12 Trustee in the District of South Carolina, 1986 to 1991
  • Chapter 7 and 11 Trustee
  • Chairman of the Bankruptcy Local Rules Advisory Committee
