David Sills

David G. Sills is the Presiding Justice of the Fourth District, Division Three of the California Courts of Appeal. He was appointed by Governor Deukmejian on August 28, 1990. He is subject to a retention election on November 2, 2010 and his current term ends on January 3, 2011.[1]
Biography
David Sills was born on March 21, 1938 in Peoria, Illinois. He graduated with a B.S. degree from Bradley University in 1959. He received his law degree (LL.B.) from the University of Illinois College of Law in 1961. He served active duty in the Marines in 1960 and 1962 to 1965. He was later the mayor of Irvine City for four years and has been the Chairman of the Irvine Health Foundation since 1985.[2][3]
Legal career
David Sills began his legal career in 1965 as a private practice attorney in Orange County, California. In 1985, he was appointed to the Orange County Superior Court, where he served until his appointment to the Court of Appeals in 1990.[2][3]
