H. Dean Buttram, Jr. (b. 1950) was a federal judge on the United States District Court for the Northern District of Alabama.

Judge Buttram was nominated by President Bill Clinton on August 31, 1998, to a seat vacated by Robert Propst. He was confirmed by the Senate on October 8, 1998, and received commission the next day. He resigned on June 30, 2002. Buttram was succeeded in this position by Scott Coogler.
