Dean Pregerson

Dean Pregerson is a federal judge for the United States District Court for the Central District of California. He joined the court in 1996 after being nominated by President Bill Clinton.
Early life and education
A native of California, Pregerson graduated from University of California-Los Angeles with his Bachelor's Degree in 1972 and later graduated from the University of California-Davis King Hall School of Law with his juris doctorate degree in 1976. [1]
Legal career
Pregerson began his legal career Parole hearing officer for the California Department of Corrections in 1977 before entering into private practice licensed in the State of California in 1978 and also served again as a private practice lawyer in California from 1982 to 1985 and from 1986 to 1996. Pregerson briefly was licensend in Guam in 1982. Pregerson also served as a Assistant public defender of the Public Defender Service Corporation of Guam from 1978 to 1981 and also served as Vice president and general counsel of the The Torrance Company in 1985. Federal judicial career
On the recommendation of U.S. Senators Dianne Feinstien and Barbara Boxer, Pregerson was nominated by President Bill Clinton on January 26, 1996, to a seat vacated by Wallace Tashima as Tashima was nominated to the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. Pregerson was confirmed by the U.S. Senate on July 24, 1996 on a majority voice vote and received commission on August 1, 1996[2] [1]
