Deana McDonald is a district court judge for the 30th District Court in Kentucky. She was elected in 2010 to a four-year term beginning in January 2011 and ending in January 2015.[1][2]

In 2014, McDonald ran for election to the 30th Circuit Court, specifically the Jefferson County Family Court. She was successful in her bid, winning an eight-year term that commences on January 5, 2015, and expires on January 1, 2023.[3][4]

McDonald was elected to the 30th District Court. She defeated candidate Ellie Kerstetter with 70.79% of the vote on November 2, 2010.[8][9]

Education

McDonald received her undergraduate degree from Western Kentucky University in 1974 and her J.D. from the University of Louisville School of Law in 1994.[10]

Career

Before her election to the district court in 2010, McDonald served as an assistant counsel for the Cabinet for Health and Family Services, as a prosecutor for the Jefferson County Attorney’s Office and as a criminal defense attorney.[10]
