Dennis Beck

Dennis L. Beck is a federal magistrate judge for the United States District Court for the Eastern District of California. He was appointed to this position on March 12, 1990 and was reappointed chief magistrate judge in 1998 and 2002.[1][2]
Education
Judge Beck received his B.A. degree from the College of William and Mary in 1969 and his J.D. degree from the College of William and Mary, Marshall-Wythe School of Law in 1972.[1]
Career
Judge Beck began his career in 1972 as a Deputy District Attorney in Fresno. In 1977 and 1978, he worked as a private practice lawyer with Crossland, Crossland, et al. He soon returned to the Fresno D.A.'s Office and became a Chief Deputy District Attorney in 1980. From 1983 to 1985, he served as a Kings County Superior Court judge. He then worked with the firm Thomas, Snell, et al. until 1987, when he returned once again to the Fresno D.A.'s office. He worked there as an Assistant District Attorney until he was appointed magistrate judge in 1990.[1][2]
