Derek Pullan is a Utah Fourth Judicial District for the Heber City District Court.[1] Pull was appointed to this position in September 2003 and his term expires in 2016.[2]
Education
Pullan received his JD from Brigham Young University's J Reuben Clark Law School in 1993. [2]
Career
Pullan worked as a law clerk for the Utah Supreme Court from 1993 to 1994. From 1994 to 1999, he served as a deputy county attorney in Washington and Wasatch counties. He then served as Wasatch County Attorney from 1999 to 2003. Pullan was appointed to the Fourth District Court by Governor Michael O. Leavitt in September of 2003. He has served in that position since and is currently the Presiding Judge.[2]
2012 election
Pullan stood for retention election in 2012. On November 6, 2012, Pullan was retained with 83.9% of the vote and receiving a total of 139,104 votes.[3][4]

Judicial Performance Evaluation recommendation
The Utah Judicial Performance Evaluation Commission compiled information from attorneys, court staff and jurors about the performance of all judges up for retention in 2012. Judges were evaluated based on five criteria.
A judge must score at least 3 in each of these categories to meet the minimum performance standard. 96 attorneys responded to the following questions.
- Legal Ability: 4.35
- Communication: 4.46
- Integrity: 4.60
- Judicial temperament: 4.51
- Administrative: 4.50
