Donna Stroud

Donna S. Stroud is a judge on the North Carolina Court of Appeals. She was elected to this position in November of 2006 and took office on January 2, 2007. Her current term ends in 2014.[1][2]

Biography

Judge Stroud was born on June 28, 1964 in Kinston, North Carolina. She received her B.A. degree in Government from Campbell University at Buies Creek in 1985 and her J.D. degree from the Campbell University School of Law in 1988. She is now married and has two sons.[1]

Legal career

Judge Stroud began her legal career in 1988 with the law firm Kirk, Gay, Kirk, Gwynn & Howell. She then joined the firm Gay, Stroud & Jackson, L.L.P. in 1995. She worked as a lawyer with this firm until 2004. During this time, she also worked as a 10th Judicial District Court Arbitrator (1996-2004) and a Certified Superior Court Mediator (1997-2004). In 2004, she was elected to the Wake County District Court (10th Judicial District), where she judged until she was elected to the Court of Appeals in 2006.[1]
