Edward Roy Becker (1933-2006) was a federal judge on the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit and the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.

Becker was the 2001 recipient of the Edward J. Devitt Distinguished Service to Justice Award.

Third Circuit

Becker was nominated to the Third Circuit by President Ronald Reagan on November 16, 1981, to a seat vacated by Max Rosenn; he was confirmed by the Senate on December 3, 1981, and received commission that same day. He served as chief judge from 1998-2003. He assumed senior status on May 4, 2003, and served in that capacity until his death on May 19, 2006.

Eastern District of Pennsylvania

Becker was nominated to the Eastern District of Pennsylvania by President Richard Nixon on September 24, 1970, to a new seat created by 84 Stat. 294; he was confirmed by the Senate on October 8, 1970, and received commission six days later. He served this court until his January 22, 1982 appointment to the Third Circuit.
