Edward Ewell

Governor Jennifer Granholm appointed Edward Ewell to the court, and began August 11, 2003. He replaced Judge George W. Crockett, III who retired.[1]

Legal Experience
Ewell earned his law degree from Wayne State University and holds a bachelor’s of arts degree from the University of Michigan.[2]
Legal Experience
Ewell, of Detroit, most recently served as Interim Deputy Corporation Counsel for Wayne County where he worked in numerous legal areas including health, community justice, negligence, tax litigation, public services, environment, employment, and municipal matters. Previously, Ewell served as Assistant U.S. Attorney in the United States Attorney’s Office in Detroit. He served in both the civil and criminal divisions during his tenure. Ewell also clerked for Judge Damon Keith in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 6th Circuit.[3]
