Judicial career
Eastern District of New York
Garvin was nominated by President Woodrow Wilson on March 6, 1918 to fill the seat vacated by Van Vechten Veeder. He was confirmed by the Senate on March 21st, and received commission that same day. He resigned on October 31, 1925.[1] Garvin was succeeded in this position by Grover Moscowitz.
